Re: ADSM client on NetWare 4.11

We had the same problem a few days ago, as we moved from NetWare 4.1 to
NetWare 4.11. After several tests we found out, that the problem was not ADSM,
as we first suspected, because other applications using TCP/IP (e.g. ArcServe)
also did not run. The ping from and to the ADSM server worked fine. Also
the restore function of ADSM. Only backup did not run properly.

The strange thing is, that the problem only occurred in the following 
combination:

NetWare 4.11 (running on a Compaq Pro-Liant),
newest TCP/IP NLM (TCPIP.NLM Version 3.05e 23 September 1996) from Novell,
and an ATX-Router (routing from FDDI to FDDI)

Since we installed the following (older) TCP/IP NLM the backup was O.K.:

  TCPIP.NLM
  Novell TCP/IP Module
  Version 3.00b    8 November 1994

We have mentioned the problem to Novell but by now we do not have a final
solution.

We have been unable to get ADSM NetWare client to work on our NetWare 4.11
We have been unable to get ADSM NetWare client to work on our NetWare 4.11
servers. It works fine on our NetWare 3.1x servers but on the NetWare 4.11
servers it fails to connect to the ADSM server.  The error is "ANS4017E
Session rejected: TCP/IP connection failure."

The client is version 2, release 1, level 0.5. The server is ADSM MVS
Server, version 2, release 1, level 0.3.

The NetWare 4.11 servers have InternetWare Support Pack 1.0b (411SP1B)
installed. We're loading TSA410.NLM and TSANDS.NLM. We didn't update the
SMS modules because the versions on the servers were newer.

TCP/IP itself is working on the servers -- we can ping them.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Please let me know if there is
any additional information I can provide that might help.
