Hi Steve,
        We run multiple backups using ADSMPIPE at the same time, we have found
that about 8 is the most a system can take with compression on - we
backup 2 gb files, so compression is needed to ensure we don't flood the
network more than neccessary, but we haven't got multiple API's running.
To backup a database contain raw logical volumes we have a script which
streams the list of volumes, say 200 of them into 8 jobs, they run at
the same time.
