(Ray lamented on INDEX.STORSYS.IBM.COM distribution woes)

Don't forget those diskettes IBM forces you to create. Let's see ...

o unreliable access (can't connect much of time)

o incredibly slow (I get between 320 and 2500 bytes per second)

o unintuitive layout (only interesting stuff is in something called
     "fixes"?!)

o arcane interface (FTP, no WWW) (diskettes, what are diskettes?
Ever heard of ZIP and self-extracting EXEs?) (AIX & MAC are OK)

o out-of-sync mirrors (make new PTF available simultaneously on
various servers) (AIX directories may still not match this week!)

o people-time intentive processing *after* download. (diskettes)
(major changes to installation with each revision, usually
unannounced, not discussed) (poor reinstall/upgrade ... no one cares
if their old version gets blown away during upgrade: get rid of it).

Internet distribution is such a great concept.

IBM and ADSM just don't get it when it comes to INDEX.STORSYS.IBM.COM

On another subject, does ADSM (VM V2 server) have an HESC feature code yet?

Hard to be an advocate sometimes,
