     We use only scratch tapes.

     If you have a tape management system like CA1 or IBMs rmm with the f=
unction
     EDM (external data manager), then

          just define the storage pool with EXPDT=3D99365
          define ADSM as EDM in the tape management system
          define the EDM exit of the tms in the ADSM server option file

     and the rest is adjusted by ADSM.

     Works fine for us.
