The message isn't "Active object not found" is it?

I don't know how to figure out which tape has the bad file.

To get the person's disk restored meanwhile, you could do a Restore by
Tree and restore all files except the bad one to their original locations.
This is ugly, but will let you get around the bad file. Once the disk
is restored, rename the old filespace (or delete it if you feel dashing)
and do a new initial backup of the disk. If the message *was* "Active
object not found", do the new initial backup with the 2.1.0.2 client
or better, since there's code in that release that refuses to back up
files or folders whose names contain nulls.
