Hello,

we are trying to implement ADSM API calls to manage our experiment data.

In "Using the API Interface" it is noted and by experience we could
verify that

   "Only the API can restore or retrieve objects that have been backed up
    or archive with API calls."

This is a major drawback for our plans. We wanted to take advantage of
the API (input from tape, better performance, runs on VMS) and standard
ADSM client (GUI, etc) and combine the two.

My questions:

Is there a way to restore/retrieve API files on a ADSM client ?
What about restoring/retrieving ADSM client files by an API client ?
Is it a permanent restriction or is it possibly changed in the future ?

Another short observation:

The API does not work with
TCPNODELAY in the client system options file.
