I'll assume were talking about local hard drive volume labels and
not some ADSM thing on the server. I don't believe that you can
change the volume label on a hard drive without some third party
utility like Norton (Windows) Partition Magic (OS/2).
We don't worry about volume labels at all. Most of our important
data is kept in server directories via LAN Server. If I upgrade a
users computer I either create a similar partition mapping
(usually a C: and D:) or use a new node name. If I did the latter,
I then give the new node permission to restore/retrieve data from
the old node's file library.
