We have the same configuration as you describe. We slso have TCP/IP on the
MVS machine, although these machines do not have it installed. They do have a
Token-Ring card on them. We use the bootable ADSM system, with TCP/IP, as a
way to get connectivity to the ADSM server, and then do a full restore. When
the restore is complete, they are back in their former glory as a CM/2-APPC
machine.

Submitted for your reflection.....

Picture an ADSM client for OS2 connected to an MVS server via SNA lu6.2 with
Communications Manager 2.

Suddenly the hard drive squeals to a halt and 1.2GB of disk space hits the
Twilight Zone.....
No problem... all 1.2GB are backed up but... how to restore? The hard drive
is replaced and functioning. Do we:

1. re-install OS2, CM2 and ADSM client, then perform the full restore or

2. Is there a better way to perform such disaster recovery?

Thanks to all......

REGARDS, ROLF
