Andy, just back from vacation so not sure if someone else has answered
your questions or not.  DB2/6000 V1 and V2 use the ADSM api.  With DB2/6000
V1 you can perform full online and offline backups.  With DB2/6000 you
can additionally perform online and offline backups of tablespaces.  The
backup data can be sent directly to ADSM using the ADSM api.  The best
documentation on this is the redbook several folks wrote with me, Using
ADSM to Back Up Databases.  The version of this book that is orderable
today, GG24-4335 covers DB2/6000 V1 and ADSM V1.  An updated book, SG24-4335-01
was published in December and should be hitting the streets within the next
