I would agree with Andy Raibeck that the tape cost is minimal - it's also
probably safer too.

I would like the ability to write multiple copies of the same full and
incremental backup tapes under ADSM. If you are keeping a primary copy of
data in the ATL and one off-site it seems appropriate to do the same with
backups.
