Quite a while ago, perhaps 18 months, IBM acknowledged that the retrieve
function was 'broken as designed' in that it would collapse the directory
tree if the retrieve was done to a place different from the original
archive.  It was stated in the maintenance documentation that this would
be fixed in a future ptf.  I have been waiting a long time for this
fix!  Can someone in client development give me a ballpark figure for
when this might be available?
