In my experience, scheduled event MISSED status means:
machine not powered on, or
scheduler not running in machine, or
nodename mismatch in preferences file or command line specification
with server expectation.
network/connection problem.
Only the latter item will be explicitly in your DSMSCHED/DSMERROR log.
