I had a similar problem which gave the following error message (under VM) :

ANR0811I Inventory client file expiration started as process 1.
ANR0104E DSALLOC(988): Error 2 deleting row from table "DS.Segments".
ANR9999D IMUTIL(832): Error deleting object (0 293131)
ANR0865E Expiration processing failed - internal server error.
ANR0860E Expiration process 1 terminated due to internal error: deleted 0
backup files and 0 archive files.

The solution from IBM was to perform a standalone audit of the database :

        DSMSERV AUDITDB DISKSTORAGE FIX=YES

...which lasted for more than 24 hours and locks up the ADSM server during this
time (great way to spend a weekend !)

Before starting the audit its best to contact IBL support although the outcome
will probably be an audit.
