ADSM makes no attempt to segregate active and inactive versions on
separate volumes. To do so could require file movement whenever a
file's status is changed from active to inactive. If you are
concerned about the possibility of losing a volume on which all
copies of a file are stored, ADSM Version 2 provides a storage
pool backup function that allows files to be duplicated in more
than one storage pool.
