define library fails...

I have a problem with defining a tape library (jukebox) under ADSM 1.2.1 (With
the IP20254 (1.2r7) PTF applied.

I have the license key for device module 1, which includes support for my
ADIC1200 jukebox, but when I try to define it I get

adsm> define library adic libtype=scsi device=/dev/lb0
ANR8418E DEFINE LIBRARY: An I/O error occurred while accessing library ADIC.

and logged in errpt I get 3 times the following error....
