Hello. I have just purchased ADSM Server for OS/2. The original
version that came in the box seemed to be pretty old so I have updated
the Server from the ftp site. I am currently running Version 1, Release
2, Level 0.7/1.7. I can't use the lastest OS/2 client as the disk
images on the ftp site have CRC errors when I use LOADDSKF to make them.
The new version is supposed to support my tape drive which is an
HP1533A, but as you can see from the log below ADSM can't see it. I
have included a QMC dump to give anyone an idea of what my machine looks
like. We have 2 QLogic Fast SCSI IQ PCI cards in the box which have ROM
version 1.14 and I am using .ADD version 2.02. I am also using EZRAID
2.0 to make my 3 SCSI disk drives appear as one big 10G drive. Does
anyone have any ideas as to why ADSMSDI can't actually see any of the
SCSI devices or ADSM? EZRAID sees them just fine. I have tried many
other backup programs all with mixed success. Most can see the tape,
but all seem to fail when I have over 10G to backup. We currently have
about 20G online and will be adding another 12G by September. I really
need to have a reliable backup system in place. In addition, does
anyone know about the magazine version of the HP1533A? Can the single
tape version be converted to the magazine version?
David Berger
