I am taking the liberty to repost this to the list.

This is a MAJOR problem for us. In our world there is a
/afs local file system that maps to /afs/rpi.edu, /afs/cmu.edu,
etc (about 90 percent of the western world is in the /afs tree).
We would like to remove this entry completely; as well as other,
less voluminous directories.

Does ADSM development have a time table for including this
functionality? R.

YEs - this is what will happen. Despite what is inthe incl/excl file, a
user will see all of the local file systems as if they were candidates for
backups. However, if you carry the test trughh, you will find out that
when the user attemtpts to back up a filesystem that has been excluded ,
they won't be able to back the files up. I tried this myself.

I cintacted IBM about this and they validated what I had discovered.
In the current release there is no support to hide or mask files
from a user.
