You can exclude files but not directories. On page 237 of our
Release 2 ADSM Unix User's Guide, we explain:

"When you run your incremental backup, ADSM also backs up all
directory information. You can exclude the files within a directory,
but you cannot exclude a directory from backup services.
Directories are counted in the number of files backed up."

What you may want to do instead is define a VIRTUALMOUNTPOINT
in your dsm.sys file for that one directory you want backed up,
then specify that directory on your incremental backup command
as the "filesystem" parameter. The "filesystem" parameter supercedes
your DOMAIN setting, which in your case is probably the default
of all local filesystems. That way you only backup what you want
and you don't have to exclude anything.

Our UNIX User's Guide talks about this under Incremental, Domain,
Virtualmountpoint, and also p. 236. Hope this helps!
