Thanks all for your help on this problem!

Abi has officially opened a problem with IBM.

Abi is using FTP PC/TCP version 2.3, which FTP recommends to use WINSOCK.DLL
from version 2.2 and I have conveyed the message to her.

FTP no longer supports version 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. The latest version is 3.0.
I recommend those who use PC/TCP to upgrade to this latest level.
