Well, still haven't gotten as far as ADSM under SoftWindows on the
PowerPC Mac but, we have found one thing that might be useful to someone
else. The conflict problem with SoftWindows network applications dying
once a Mac network application is opened may be solved by setting the
MacTCP to use EtherTalk rather than Ethernet. Of course you'd need
something to convert your ethertalk packets to real ethernet packets
( a fastpath or something of that type device ) the solution is far
from idea to take a nice PowerPC and make it chat through a gateway
but, when the Mac OS is using ethertalk, the actual ethernet device is
free for the SoftWindows applications and neither wipes the other.
So far this has worked for us here, maybe this will save someone else
the better part of an afternoon kicking a machine around. Hopefully
this will be solved when the new version of SoftWindows comes out soon.
