Here's another method one could use to create a full backup of a system
at any given time. This method may not work on all platforms (it works
on Macintosh), but if it does, it will allow you to easily take a full
backup whenever the need exists.

To take a full backup, simply rename the hard disks and ADSM will think
the disks are new volumes and happily, incrementally backup every file
on the volume (aka full backup). To keep the backups organized, you
might append the date to the hard disk name. For example, change the
name of your hard disk from 'HiYaMaverick' to 'HiYaMaverick.94_06_01'.
Then, after the full backup, change the name of the hard disks back to
their original names.

On a Mac, the renaming of the disks could be automated with QuickKeys or
AppleScript. Or, one could write a small INIT (oops, I mean an
application for the startup items folder) that would change the name of
the hard disk once a month.
