Joseph, I am not aware of any "IBM position" per se. RESOURCEUTILIZATION is simply another "tuning knob" that was added to the product. Like any other setting, the decision of when and how to use it

We set it to 5 for servers that have the cpu/memory/os capable of handling multiple concurrent backup streams, and leave it at 2 for those that are borderline. For a beefy machine with multiple files
