- This will not affect your backup. It will still be valid. The /tmp/crout files are temporary ones created by cron, but more than likely deleted before they can be backed up. Try using the -e flag on

- My main concern was with the backup stopping once this error occured. What you're saying means that the last thing mksysb backs up is the /tmp directory, which is generally not crucial for a restore.

- When the backup is started, a file should appear in /tmp (within a few minutes of the backup started) with a name along the lines .archive.list.xxxxx . Take a copy of this and compare it to the list
