You should verify the state of the objects. After the deletion of the files via RMAN the state should change from active to inactive. Be sure your RetO value is set to 0 otherwise the files will be k

Othonas thanks for your reply thats exactly what I was looking for but I guess I still have a problem. My DBAs run this command change backuppiece tag 'TRIB20001215' delete. and it says the files are

It sounds like a problem at the API level between TSM and Oracle, either upgrade yr RMAN module, or the TSM Client API, or both... it seems to me that they don't hook up appropriately. Do you receive
