One thing to note about TDPO_AVG_SIZE when using TDP for Oracle 2.2, and more importantly when using TDP for Oracle 2.2 with Oracle 8i or greater is that we no longer require the use of TDPO_AVG_SIZE

Typically, you define a maximum size for the storage pool. The problem here is that the TDP is different and Oracle does not preannounce the object size. So, I think it will get to 20GB fail and then

We're getting a Server out of Storage message. We now send objects over 20GB directly to a tape storage pool, hoping this will solve the Server out of Storage problem.

With TDP for Oracle you set a parameter called DSMO_AVG_SIZE. Every time a file is sent to TSM that parameter is used to allocate space in the storage pool. The real file size is not allocated until
