I have a firewall interface that once every 24 hours NetView does a config check. This cause the firewall to believe it is unauthorized traffic and shuts down any response back to the NetView server

You cannot turn it off, but you could defeat it, by using a specific entry ofr it in xnmsnmpconf to give it a configuration polling interval so large that in effect netmon will never check it again.

I assume the Netview server is inside the firewall. Why not acl the firewall to allow the Netview traffic?
