Well, I guess that answers my question. There is no real security with ADSM. Earlier postings state that it's security is "Kerberos-like" - that doesn't seem true either. Doesn't this seem to bother

I looked but didn't see much discussion on this? Clients need to enter the correct password and there's a variable to lock out if incorrect passwords are entered so many times. What level of security

I didn't see what was posted to lead you down this path. Did anyone mention that with some competitors products you can simply grab a tape with data on it and read the data. With ADSM unless you have

remember in a unix environment, only root may restore any file... if an individual user fires up dsmc, they may only restore files they have read privs on and if they don't have write privs they have
