Cyndie, In what specific environments will ADSM backup a SYBASE DB? I had heard that either the SYBASE API or DATA-TOOLS API were required, unless the DB is defined in a filesystem. Thanks ... Tom Sy

Tom, if your Sybase database is installed on raw devices, you can use the Sybase backup utilities, dump database and dump transaction (or the bulk copy utility) to dump the database and logs to files
