Just a thought - what about creating a media pool that isn't used by any backup policies and moving the media to that pool until you have the opportunity to flip the write/tab and import it? ________

ah - good. I was going to say that "freezing" media, in the "bpmedia -freeze" sense will still allow your images to expire. When I get a legal freeze, I duplicate those images to another pool of tape
