Is it possible for Veritas HSM to manage a filesystem that lives on a NetApp? I'd be stunned if the answer were yes, but I thought I'd ask, lest I lose a bet... :)

I've been trying to find an answer to this for some time. Ideally I've wanted NetApp to include several things in Data OnTap. 1. a native veritas netbackup client. Sure would make it a lot easier to
NetBackup Supports NetApp Native dump backup using NDMP. We've been doing this for almost 2 years now. There are issues I agree, but if we stay with supported and tested platforms it works just fine.

I agree that it sometimes works. What I'm frustrated with is the number of messages I see on this list and elsewhere where an upgrade to Data Ontap to fix a bug there, breaks NDMP backups from NetBac
