We have a Scalar 10K that we need to expand. We've received the key to add additional slots, but I trying to plan for the work that I'll need to do within NetWorker. If my slot count increases by 100

It may be slower, but IMHO deleting the jukebox resource and running jbconfig is by far the cleanest and safest way to upgrade, you can give it to your junior sysadmin to do the job. Just don't forge
