I think there are certain things that run on certain ports, but I seem to recall that it's necessary sometimes to increase the range of ports for client connections if you start experiencing errors o

Look up "Firewall Support" in the index of the current Windows or Unix guide, it will give you the same information Default range for service ports 7937-9936 Default for connection ports 10001-30000
