That is the way it is supposed to work and the way it works for me 99% of the time.. I would run the btape tests that are in the manual to test the operation of your autochanger. Some autochangers /

Check ownership and permissions of the changer device as well as the tape devices. The usual problem is tests run as root while bacula runs as bacula. -- Come build with us! The BlackBerry(R) Develop

I think I found the problem. As I said I reset the tapes with: mt rewind; mt weof ; mt rewind In that case (although 'label barcodes' seemed to work): 3305 Autochanger "load slot 1, drive 0", status
