ok.. now my problem is not totally resolved. within my logs i saw this msg Running: /bin/gtar -c -f - -C /samba --totals . full backup started for directory /samba Xfer PIDs are now 1205,1204 /bin/gt

Hi Josh, the tar version is 1.15.1 running on Centos 5.5. Under the configuration, the tarsharename is defined as $Conf{TarShareName} = '/samba'; and the script for execution is $Conf{TarClientCmd} =
and the script for execution is $Conf{TarClientCmd} = '$tarPath -c -f - -C $shareName $incrDate --totals'; I would suspect the execution line is not correct. appreciate if you can help me point out.

Is there a file called /samba/samba? Since that is what tar is trying to find. (File names are given relative to the share - it looks like you specified '/samba' as the share name?) HTH, Tino. -- "Wh

ahh yes.. managed to figure out that the share name should not have anything inside. Couldn't tell what's the difference initially between the 2 specified directories. Finally got it working. Thanks.
