We've seen this before ourselves. Usually the reason is that we have a parameter(re-use delay period) set so that even though the information on these tapes has been moved to other tapes by ADSM, the

If the REUSEDLAY were set to other than 0, the volume should be in a pending state. The parameter is set to 0 for the storage pool. The other volume that was reclaimed at the same time went immediate

Try to move the data from the tape. Sometimes a move data and reclaim may not move all the data from the tape the first time, however a second move data usually corrects the problem. Ray Baughman Nat

I've noticed on the .40 adsm server I had to perform "move data" 4 times against a disk volume to actually get it emptied ! Dwight

I have found that running an "audit volume XXXX fix=yes" on the volume brings it back into line. The audit process prints a message about correcting the volume information. The tape is then set to EM

Yes, and I would recommend against allowing it to go into STGREUSE. That is, re-mark it offsite until the reuse period on the storage pool expires, and then do a "delete vol xxxx" to force it to go

Ted, Could be bad news. I had similar problems with 4 tapes and we ended up discovering that we have data base errors. If the Audit Volume doesn't work for you then the only alternative is Audit DB.
