windows Client update

hi!

does anybody know if there is a way to upgrade the tsm client and beeing shure that id WON'T need a server restart?
We have to do quite some updates in the next week and would be glad, not to do this in a downtime window

tried an upgrade on 2003 and 2008, not deleting the services, and that worked without reboot.
but i remember that sometimes a reboot is needed

do you know a document describing this?

If you stop the services first and then upgrade, in windows, you only need to start the service and then wait a minute and restart the service. I did 189 upgrades from 5.4/5.5.1 to 6.2.2.2 and did not have to do a server restart. I would test first because every deployment is different.

You'll also need a reboot if you are using LVSA instead of VSS for your snapshot provider.
