I have a question about the installation of the windows client (web and scheduler).

We have the client nodes set up with passwordaccess=generate, and forcepwreset=yes, to make the clients generate a new password on the first connection.

This works really well on Linux/Solaris, as the dsmc only asks for the password the first time it is run, and then it generates and stores the new password.

However, on windows, it seems to be more troublesome. When you first install the client (and scheduler), it asks for the password, and generates and stores the new password. But if you want to use the Web GUI as well (on the clients), and try to set it up using the "Set up wizard", it will ask for the password once more... But, as the node password is changed, you can't use that again.

Why does it do this?
Which password does it want?
If I enter an administrator password, will it store it somewhere, or does it just want to connect once to see if it works?

We don't have any client administrators. We only register the nodes with a password that will be changed at first connect, and then anyone who wants to use the web client has to have a personal admin account.

Or maybe the password isn't needed after all... Strange...
