We are getting this error on all of our 2003 Servers. We are getting a backup but we get this error at the end:

Hiya Mwwilliams

Did you figure this one out. Havign the exact same issue with 2003 servers myself

Cheers :confused:

Here is some info from the IBM website...what version of TSM are you guys running? The ANS5186E code is stating that you must use a 5.2 server or highter...

Hope this helps....

IC36305: MESSAGE "ANS1448E AN ERROR OCCURRED ACCESSING NTFS SECURITY INFORMATION" CAUSES RC 12 WHEN IT SHOULD BE RC 4

APAR status

Closed as fixed if next.

Error description

When the following message is issued:

ANS1448E An error occurred accessing NTFS security information

the return code for the operation is set to 12. Since this only

results in a skipped file, the correct behavior is to set the

return code to 4.

Local fix

Problem summary

****************************************************************

* USERS AFFECTED: TSM client running on Windows-NT family *

* operating systems. *

****************************************************************

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message ANS1448E results in RC 12 when *

* it should be RC 4 (skipped file). *

****************************************************************

* RECOMMENDATION: *

****************************************************************

ANS1448E is nominally an error-level message, which causes the

operation to end with return code (RC) 12. However, because

it only causes a file to be skipped, this message has been

remapped to generate RC 4 instead of RC 12.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

This APAR will be fixed in 5.2.0.

Hiya joekr,

We are running 5.2. I too saw this on the net, but I'm not sure what I need to do with it. I don't want to see any error codes be it they are error 4's or error 12's

Cheers

Stephen :confused:

Hi,

You dont want the NTFS permissions to be retained it can be unchecked from Preference option of the BaClient.- But Why would any one want to do that?

Try Upgrading your Ba client to the latest version-5.3.14. Check the compatibility with 5.2 also

Regards

Shamin

What does all this mean exactly? We have multiple W2K3 servers giving us a RC12.

Server version 5.2.6.2

Client version 5.2.3
