why does select * from nodes returns empty tcp_address

Not sure if this is the correct sub forum, but does anyone know why an empty tcp_address would be returned on a select tcp_address from nodes i.e:

tsm: x10>select node_name,tcp_address from nodes where tcp_address is NULL

NODE_NAME TCP_ADDRESS
------------------ ------------------
CYKPDBAGL01
HUBBLE

I have about 60 nodes that do not return IP addresses. Some are VMS, running ABC client, some are locked or not in use for a while, but some are active nodes that run everyday.
TSM Server release is 5.5.6.102. Same happens on 6.3.1. Client versions and type vary

select node_name, tcp_address, tcp_name from nodes

Run this command, this one you will get tcp_address for all nodes..
