Installing Tivoli Storage Manager Solaris 2.6/7/8/9 API Client as <TIVsmCapi>

pkgadd: ERROR: preinstall script did not complete successfully



Installation of <TIVsmCapi> failed.





os: sunOS mathe 5.8 Generic_108528-29 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-80



tivoli client :5.2.0



i aleady used other version about 5.2.3 however it did`t work too !



so .. anyone know that what is wrong .

Must install as root.

Also check the permissions on the files/directories. I've found, especially with patches, that Sun uses the "nobody" account when installing/upgrading. If your files are 700 then it won't work.

I have this error in my client and I tranfer the packages to /tmp directory.



There I have success in the instalation
