We are currently on AIX 7.1 running TSM 7 with 3592-EO5 drives, looking at updating to EO8 drives, or LTO-7 drives, possible switch to Super Micro server from IBM p-series server.

TSM 7.1.7 on AIX 7.1 & TSM 7.1.7 on RHEL 6
I'd pick IBM POWER with AIX over anything, otherwise I'd run it on RHEL. I wouldn't personally run anything on Windows other than a Domain Controller, but that's just me.

We are converting from Windows to Linux. Some of our Windows servers were servicing over 1000 clients each without too many issues. We have eliminated tape and use Data Domains for storage. TSM seems to be running much better on Linux.
