what determines the retention of data on a copy stgpool

I have a primary file based stgpool that gets backup to a copy lto based stgpool. I see thate th copygroup determines retention on the primary pool but what determines the retention on the copy stgpool. Where do you specify that? Can a primary and its associates copy stgpool have different retention
