Hi
Can i use SP4VE to backup vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 ? If yes, can i recover vCenter from the backup?
I could not find any technote on IBM site to support my question. Thanks

It's not recommended to backup the vCenter appliance with SP4VE, since the quiescing of the vCenter to do snapshot will cause issues essentially if your proxy server is a VM.

Do you have a citation for this recommendation? I am currently backing up our 6.5 appliance and haven't had any issues.

What is the alternative?
