Hi,

I not understand, how works VCB with TSM.

1 - TSM Installation on the VCB Proxy
2 - Configuring the TSM Client on the VCB Proxy.
3 - Configuring the TSM Client Schedule on the VCB Proxy.
4 - Adding the TSM Client to a Server Schedule
5 - Configuring Pre/PostSchedule Commands
pre-command <jobname> <VMList>

The VMList is the file or command? I not understand this point.

And JOBNAME, I not understand, how I must use it.
I'm not editing the scripts VCB.

Thanks

Hey - Before I answer this - my current environment is using VCB as well - but I am having issues with the Full Backup routine - using the VCBMounter.exe as part of the backup script. Our Dailies use pre and post sched commands without error - But the Fulls use this VCBMounter with all sorts of additional switches - and I'll need some interpretations - and perhaps best practices from our VMWare community here.
Thanks everyone

Figured I would post some information I have on the OP's question.

I have written a post about this on my site..

To manually start a backup using file level against a vm.
dsmc backup vm -vmlist=vmguest -vmchost=vcmserver -vmcuser=vcuser -vmcpw=vcpassword

Also.. in my dsm.opt I have entries like this..

vmchost esxnode or vcnode
vmcuser vcb
vmcpass
vmlist vmguest1 vmguest2 vmguest3 guestX

Where vmchost is the virtual center management server dns name or esx server dns name. Vmcuser is a user account that has access to create snapshots and such. vmcpass is the password for this vmcuser account. vmlist is just space seperated vmguest machine names.
