We are using vcbmounter.exe (vcb) backups with TSM and when we backup sql server, specifically those that are busy, we have lockups with the tempdb. Has anyone else had this happen with vcb backups? We end up restarting the sql server. Some of our sql servers are system critical and cannot be stopped to run a vcb backup, which is what vmware suggested. Does anyone have any better options if they have seen this issue?
