Hello, I have a problem with vaultretrieve full backup TSMDB tapes.

TSM server version: 6.2.2.2

I have set two kinds of backup TSMDB:
1) backup db devc=LIB_LTO4 type=full vol=000040L4, 000041L4
Day of Week: Sun
2) backup db dev=FILE type=INCR
Day of Week: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat

DRM settings:
DB Backup Series Expiration Days: 0 Day(s)

VOLHIST settings:
del volhistory t=dbbackup todate=today-30

After 15 days:
000041L4 Vault 05/21/11 09:23:59
000040L4 Vault 05/21/11 09:17:28

Where is the problem?

Are 000040L4 and 000041L4 the only DB backups? If yes, TSM WILL NOT delete these!

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, tapes 40 and 41 are only for tsmdb full backup.
Tsmdb Incremental backups are made to the file.
Why TSM won't delete these tapes?

TSM would not delete these tapes because there is no way for you to recover the environment if these tapes are gone - TSM 101!

Sorry, I can't understand this. I have full db backup on two volumes if one of the tapes is gone I have the second one. Is the problem in "volume" option? How should I do this properly?

Is your database so big to have backup on two LTO4 tapes? Use only one as option to backup db. Use admin schedule to use different tape on each dbbackup: on 1st sun one , on 2nr another and so on during a month. But best practice is to not to declare a specific tape - you may have same problems using the same tape for dbbackup for a long time

No, my tsmdb is very small (2,5GB). I'm using two tapes only for test it. I would like to know why have a problem when I declare tape to db backup.
