Hello, I am a bit lost in the TSM function and licencing...
I have a TSM5.3 server, connected to SAN, where an ESS array and 3584 library are connected and seen by both the server and the nodes to be backed up.
I need to perform backups in this way:
1. client, utilizing a TDP for SQL, Mail, Domino etc. would send data to a SAN disk on the ESS (directly, through SAN),
2. TSM server would take this data from the disk and save them to the tape. All this should be done LAN-free.
What licences and program components do I need for the environment? I do not want to use TDP for Hardware. I am just guessing I will need these:
1. normal TSM Extended per backed up processor
2. TSM for SAN for the clients to see and use the 3584 library directly
3. ??? to send client data through the SAN to disk = is this SANERGY for file sharing or ???
And finally, what shall I install for the lan free to work?
