I have an env. running on TSM 6.2 EE - the software package includes the TSM Storage Agent...question is - can I deploy the Stg Agent without actually purchasing TSM for SAN - the license for the Stg Agent is included in TSM for EE (seemed to work for me, I've installed it on a couple clients with no issues)?

You can but you will be in violation of licensing rules.
Contact your IBM rep for price points and possible discounts - you should really be paying for the licenses.
