This is a unique opportunity to join our company as a TSM Storage Administrator with a highly professional group that provides critical infrastructure support to the distributed storage environment and server backup system. As the Administrator, you will serve as a key technical contributor and present technical solutions to relevant business problems.
Responsibilities Include:
• Tivoli Storage Manager Administration
• Installation, testing, debugging and production migration support
• Complex problem resolution
• Focused planning and project management
• Production support for software and hardware infrastructure
• Enterprise wide SAN using IBM and Hitachi storage
• iSCSI SAN using N-Series appliances (IBM-branded NetApp)
• Brocade enterprise directors
• Disaster Recovery of storage and backup for the distributed enterprise
• Application project participation with respect to storage selection
• Trouble-shooting issues in the Storage and Backup areas
• Management of Protecttier virtual tape library
• Strategic planning for the storage and backup areas
• Mentoring Systems Engineers on the team
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years work experience as a systems engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 2 years working as a Backup Administrator.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 10 years work experience as a systems engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 2 years working as a Backup Administrator.
Additional Requirements:
• Experience required in Brocade administration, Server administration and/or backup administration
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as Perl and Bash
• Basic project planning and management, strong communication and interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, strong technical abilities, quick study of new technology via on the job training, the intellect to resolve complex problems logically and methodically, and good judgment to involve and communicate with vendors, senior level technicians and management.
• Ability to be on call 24 x 7 x 365 on rotating basis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Other Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience as a Tivoli Storage Manager administrator preferred
• NetApp experience
• Experience with Visio
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science
• Banking/financial services industry experience
