I have a customer that we migrated from V5 to V7 for a TSM Server. When he does a q sys it shows 2 IP addreses. the first one may be something like 10.10.1.227 and the new server is 10.10.1.229.
Is this because he is missing TCPSERVERADDRESS in the DSMSERV.OPT file?

The server hostname/IP address is set using the SET SERVERHLADDRESS command. You can set it as an IP or hostname.
    set serverhladdress 1.2.3.4
    or
    set serverhladdress tsmserver.yourcompany.com
